About Me
My name is Matthew Swain, and I'm a poet and English major at Ball State University. My concentrations are in creative writing and literature, and I've almost completed a minor in professional writing. Most of my writing is centered around the ideas of identity and relationships, but I like to challenge myself and broaden my horizons as much as possible. My work has been published in Ball State's Broken Plate, A Feminist Thread, Z Publishing's Best Upcoming Indiana Poets edition, and Resonance.
Alongside publishing as much work as possible, my goal is to earn my MFA in creative writing so I can teach in a college setting. By focusing on technique, diversity, and representation in the classroom, I hope to show my future students that everyone is capable of becoming a great writer, and that their stories, experiences, and thoughts are all worth sharing. |
